Staff Prayer Day
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8 As a staff, we set aside an entire day three times throughout the year to pray, worship, and thank God for how present He has been in our lives and the mission of Chosen Children of Promise! Pastor Fred opened the day with a word of prayer, and the worship team followed to lead the team in praising the Lord. Dr. Mable led us through a time of prayer to cover our 2019 plans, along with praying for the board of directors, sponsors, Christ's Church of the Valley, and our other partners. We trust and believe Him at His word, that He will do imaginably more than we could ask or imagine in 2019 in the lives of our children and guardians. CCP Academy teacher Jacqueline taught us a couple new songs in line with her profession as an instructor, before leading us in prayer for the Academy. We see our children working so hard in the classroom, and we pray Christ will continue to bless them with the skills they need to excel in and outside school. Following prayer time for our kids at the Academy, Sponsorship department coordinator Wendy brought us through prayer for all our CCP sponsored children, from 0 to 24. Join us in continuously praying for these children and their guardians and families; first and foremost that they grow in their relationships with Jesus that leads to eternal life, and secondly that with Him as their strength they are empowered to reach their full potential. Pastor Fred of the spiritual department led us through praying these truths over our children. With Psalm 127 as reference, we were reminded that unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. We pray that Jesus builds this house in his strength, through us His humble servants. Following lunch, sponsorship coordinator Irene led us through praying for our nation of Kenya. These are difficult times and corruption runs rampant. But we know God still sits on the throne despite whoever holds governmental leadership. Long-serving volunteer Mable brought us into a time of prayer for our families, our friends, and our community. Then we ended with praying for our own needs and again for our children, guardians, and community children with social workers Irene and Palomah. We continue on praying beyond just a single day. He hears us, and we believe that He will answer every prayer in His timing, way, within His perfect will for us!
