MARCH YOUTH VBS COMES TO AN END
One hundred and fifty-two youth attended March 2022 Youth Vacation Bible School (VBS) which concluded on 18 March. The day started with praise and worship from the youth assisted by the CCP staff team and testimony shared by Tychicus. He encouraged the youth to give to God without having second thoughts or feelings and doubts. We should give to God all we have as the bible says, in Matthew 22:37-38, "Jesus replied, 'love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind'. This is the first and greatest commandment." NIV. He also went on and said that if you want to love God more you must love each other, Matthew 22:39, "And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'" NIV. After the testimony, we welcomed our visitor, Benson, who ministered to us with a fun, powerful and touching sermon on Generosity. He first told us the meaning of Generosity is a state of the heart, not of one's earnings or wallet. He read from the book of 2 Corinthians 9:6, "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously" NIV. We learn that God loves a cheerful giver. However, a reluctant gift that is given under compulsion, or through a sense of duty, produces meanness in the soul. Nevertheless, the sincere one and truth delights to give generously and spontaneously will reap a wonderful reward. After the powerful message, the youth would separate into small groups based on grade where they would then discuss the topic more in-depth. After small groups, our youth would split into their two teams which were led by the game referees, Fidelis Opiyo, CCP's sponsored going student assisted by Geoffrey Nyachio, CCP's staff. The youth enjoyed themselves during games time. In the end, team 'Champions' won the game against team 'Astronauts' and there were rewarded with some biscuits, cakes and sweets. At the closure of the VBS, Stella Mwangi, CCP's Managing Director and CCP's Director of Finance Jacqueline Ngige, were happy that the day was successful and appreciated the participants for attending, CCP staff for facilitating the events so well and CCP's college-going students for helping in the VBS, setting a good example. They encourage every person to keep it up.
