Thirty CCP Teenagers Graduates
Twenty-nineteen class of 30 CCP Ropers attended the 11th Tanari Trust Rites of Passage Experiences (ROPEs) graduation ceremony held at All Saints Cathedral Church, Nairobi on January 4th, 2020. This was after the Ropers successfully going through a one year ROPEs curriculum in 2019. The graduation begun with praise and worship and a welcome note from Timothy Matheka, Executive Office at Tanari Trust. In the meantime, five grandaunt gave some of the highlights during the ROPEs camp. One of the Ropers explained that the most challenging bit of the experience was hiking nevertheless he learnt to endure and never give up in life. Another Roper said during the fasting period they were given an apple for enticement and this taught him how to overcome temptations. Afterwards, Engineer Erastus Mwongera, Chairman at Tanari Trust and a former ROPEs parent described ROPEs programs as a transition is like a journey where someone experience a complete new beginning. He further read from Joshua 1:9 and encouraged the teenagers to take courageous as their plan A to be able to excel as they transition to high school. Later on, Timothy congratulated all grandaunts for their participation in the life transforming ROPEs program. The Ropers were commissioned to go forth and be the light & salt to make a difference in the world. They recited 1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity". Seven hundred and sixty ROPEs grandaunts from about 60 institution and churches were in attendance. The event climaxed with the issuance of certificates of completion to all the graduates through their institutions/churches. ROPEs Counselors, Parents, teachers and friends accompanied their Ropers to the ceremony among them Irene Kerubo, ROPEs counselor & CCP staff representative. CCP as an organization also received a commendation certificate for due compliance with ROPES program standards. CCP adopted the program for the first time in 2012.
