Strive for Excellence
On March 14th, 2019 CCP Academy held the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the St. Luke ACK Church, Kawangware with the theme "Excellence". The aim of the meeting was to update the guardians of students from grade three to grade eight the developments of the school. This was an interactive meeting that brought about difference views and can do better ideas from the parents. The meeting begun with praise and worship by Faith Wayua CCP's Social Worker. Pastor Fredrick Mmbwanga CCP's Children & Youth Coordinator encouraged the guardians from the book of 1 Corinthians 9:19-27. Fredrick admonished the guardians to focus on the race of life to win in excellence and not to run aimlessly without a purpose. The pastor drew four lessons from this passage as follows: Don't be a photocopy, do everything as Jesus would do, Commit to grow and be a person of excellence. Thereafter, the school Head Teacher Hilda Mwavishi advised the guardian to support their children in order to improve their academic performance, stewardship, cleanliness and communication. Hilda emphasized on communication which is very important between teachers and parents for a smooth flow of the school. Towards the end, Jacqueline Ngige, CCP's Director of Finance advised on character formation, discipline and parental responsibility. She reminded them that children are a gift from God and hence should embrace the privilege and not abuse it. "Every student is uniquely talented therefore motivate them and it would make them know they can do better", Jacqueline said. In addition, Stella Mwangi, CCP's Managing Director challenged the guardians to know their children academic performance. "This will make your children know you are involved in their life and will be encouraged to better their performance", Stella encouraged the guardians. In conclusion, the guardians were given an opportunity to express their different ideas about the school. Each guardian was encouraged to meet their children's teacher and know how they performed on each subject. The guardians also met in each class and voted for their class representatives.
