Children VBS Closing Day
We concluded our 5-day Vacation Bible School at both Kawangware and Ngando centers with amazing stories to take away! As our first November VBS, this was a milestone event, and we are deeply thankful to the Lord for providing the way to serve our children with this fun time of growth. Kids learned to sing "Angels We Have Heard on High", and for the final session, they were belting out the four verses they had memorized over the week. In games, they had to build a creative costume out of string, newspaper, and kale leaves. As you can imagine, there were hilarious designs to walk the runway! In lesson and craft, because of the emphasis on our theme of Christ's birth and life, we discussed Jesus growing in wisdom and stature, growing in favor with God and man. Just as Christ walked this earth, we follow His example to love and extend grace. Both teams received a small present of candy for the hard work they had put in, with the winning team receiving an additional small, edible reward. Over the week, we had an average of 237 kids at Kawangware and 293 at Ngando. Thank you as always to our dear friends of CCP who pray over these events. One of the youth who were helping, told the volunteer teacher in lessons, "I remember when it was me sitting in these seats learning about the Bible from you." Perhaps the exact lessons fade away, but the impression of that teachers' love and dedication to her students and the Lord will never leave.
What a generous gift of Bible's to our fourth and fifth graders!
