Rebuilding through Prayer
Over four thousand children, 169 being from CCP, assembled at Nairobi Chapel on October 6th, 2018 for the African Children Prayer Day with the theme "Rebuilding through prayer". The theme was derived from the book of the Nehemiah 1-13. Pastor Beatrice Muriu, ChildNet's Chairlady informed the children about prayer in Hebrews 4:16 that says, "Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need". She encouraged the children to pray as they would meet God in a real way. "God invites us to enjoy the real thing, which is prayer," Pastor Beatrice encouraged. She advised the children to know more about God's word and tell others about God. A children's choir comprising of 10 from CCP lead the congregation in praising and worshiping God. Thereafter, different children led others in praying for various prayer needs ranging from leaders, nation, parents, families, the church, healing, and salvation among others. Pastor Bella, Nairobi Chapel's Children pastor taught about rebuilding our nation Kenya. Florence Kemoni from CCP prayed for the nation. The children also prayed for the broken walls in the country. Pastor Fredrick Mmbwanga, CCP's Children & Youth Coordinator prayed had an opportunity to pray for the candidates nationwide. Children from Riruta Jubilee Academy did a special presentation. Four children received a gift of a Bible each after reciting a particular scripture they were given. Pastor Jane, Nairobi Chapel Children Pastor taught the children how Nehemiah was courageous, focused and repentant. She advised them to have a personal relationship with Christ, hence she led them into a prayer of repentance. Thereafter, a large number of children gave their lives to Christ, amongst them were some from CCP. Children from different churches and schools participated in the event. African Children Prayer Day is an annual event organized by Childnet Tuamke (a network of children pastors and workers with a vision to reach out to children in Kenya, Africa, and the world with the gospel) which runs concurrently in all the 47 counties in Kenya.
