Guardians Training
One hundred and forty-eight guardians attended our bi-monthly CCP Guardians Training on September 8th, 2018 at Maranatha Assemblies. Pastor Fredrick Mmbwanga, Youth and Children Coordinator, opened the morning with a word of prayer. Pastor Lusaka of Maranatha Assemblies encouraged the guardians. He quoted from Psalms 139:14, “We are fearfully and wonderfully made,” and from Genesis 1:31 that God saw all that he had made, and it was very good, therefore we are all important in the eyes of the Lord. The word of the day came from the Judges 11:1-8. It is the story of Jephthah the Gileadite, who was a mighty warrior, but his mother was a prostitute, so he was not supposed to inherit from his father. No one chooses where and how they will be born, but we are privileged there is a choice on the second birth that is through Jesus Christ and that we are new creatures in Him. It is not the end of us, for even if people have rejected us, God has not rejected us. He added that we need to have faith in God because with Him we can and still it does not matter how the beginning was we have a chance in life to make it. After this Wendy Wachira, Sponsorship Coordinator, grouped the guardians into four groups that are high schoolers parents, grade 4-8 parents, grade 1-3 parents and the last group was the preschoolers. This group was to help parents discuss the sponsorship items provided and sponsorship programs such as Guardians Training, Good News Clubs, and empowerment programs.
