CCP's Management Leadership Training
Michael Kisaka, CCV Global Outreach Pastor facilitated CCP's Management Leadership Training on "Differentiation and Delegation" held September 4th, 2018 at Maisha Poa, Kawangware, Nairobi. The aim of the training is to help the team grow in leadership. Michael began by explaining differentiation, which is being more of who God has called one to be while remaining anchored in God's love. It also includes staying connected to people but not allowing reactions and behaviors to be determined by them. Michael gave an example of Exodus 32:1-6 and 1Samuel 17:24-33. From the passage of the scripture we saw that David did not respond to circumstances that affected him, but Aaron did. Michael shared John Maxwell's quote 'The law of LID', which is the leadership ability that determines a person's level of effectiveness. The lower your ability to lead, the lower the lid on his/her potential. "To increase your effectiveness, remove the lids in your life", Michael said. He further explained that a person needs to lift the lids that exist in their life, lift lids for others and for the nation. In addition, he compared David and Saul in the Bible being that David was a lid lifter while Saul had lids that limited him. This is the point at which one has to know and lift the lids that are limiting their life. Thereafter, Michael explained the Objectives and Key Results (OKR's), which are essential for goal-chasing. They must be inspirational, be words not numbers, start with an action verb and are creative. In conclusion, the team learned of "Delegation", where Michael emphasized the benefits of delegating successfully. The four levels of delegating successfully are: investigation, informed progress, informed results and ownership. "Find out who you can trust and is working in their gifting", Michael advised. "When someone fails at one thing that does not mean they are a failure- something just went wrong", he concluded.
