August 2018 Youth Vacation Bible School
Two hundred and fifty-nine Youth attends CCP's August Vacation Bible School (VBS) on August 6th, 2018 at CCP's Community Center, Kawangware with the theme "Faith, Love, Hope". The camp is facilitated by CCP staffs with the Christ Church of Valley (CCV) Team from California, USA. During the event, Kristi Ambriz from CCV gave her personal testimony, encouraging the youth with the truth that God never lies. His word is true and perfect, and because He is ever-loving, He forever loves these youth! Charlotte and Shannon from CCV shared on the topic of peer pressure, using 2 Corinthians 10:13 as a guide and reference for their lesson. "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it". The youth separated into small groups and discussed what it means to have an identity in Christ, rather than in the world. After small groups was activity time! The youth have their two teams "Famous" and "Victorious" battling off all week for a prize at the end. They had a corn hole toss competition, followed by a balloon costume game. Day 2 with 182 Youth in attendance kicked off with praise and worship songs to celebrate our Lord, including the popular song 'Reckless Love'. Our friend Wendy Whitt shared her testimony to the youth; God has been very present in her life as He shows His faithfulness continuously. She loves returning to her family in Kenya, and we love to welcome her here! Thereafter, Valerie gave a lesson on 'Identity Crisis' and how she has been on a journey of finding her identity in Christ, rather than in what the world will say about her. We praise God for a fun, safe 2nd day of Youth VBS, and we pray for continued growth in these young people's relationships with Christ.
