CCP Holds Annual General Meeting (AGM)
On 24th February 2018 Chosen Children of Promise held its Annual General Meeting at Methodist Guest House. In attendance were the CCP Board members, Michael Makumi, Gaitano Simiyu, Faith Muriuki, Francis Kataka, Jacqueline Ngige & Stella Mwangi. Also, present were a team of external auditors from CPJ & Associates. Gaitano Simiyu started with a word of prayer. Michael Makumi chaired the meeting and invited the team of external auditors to take the board through 2017 audit report. They said that they had conducted the audit in accordance with the International Standards on Auditing. In their opinion the financial report gave a true and fair state of the financial transaction in accordance with the Internal Financial Reporting Standards and Kenya NGO’s Act. The board had a chance to clarify things form the auditors after which a motion to accept the 2017 audited financial reports was unanimously passed by all board members. CCP is run by an external board that oversees the policies and holds the executive team accountable for the operations of the organisation. CCP is also expected by the NGO coordination Board a government regulatory body to submits its annual audited financial reports in line with NGO’s Coordination Act.
