CCP Academy Holds Grade 4 Academic Clinic
Twenty eight grade 4 parents of CCP Academy attended an Academic Clinic session held at the school on January 18th. The session begun with an inspiration to be strong and courageous from Joshua 1:7 shared by Damaris Karugu CCP’s Social Worker. ‘’Once one has obeyed God’s law, he/she can have confidence in Him.’’ She said. Grade four’s Class Teacher Mr. Horace Omondi, encouraged the parents to uphold good communication between them and the school. He explained three ways in which parents can find out how their children are doing in school. These include; reading and signing the school diary daily, calling and visiting the school. Horace also reminded them of some basic parental responsibilities that ease the learning process. Such include, ensuring homework is done and school property in their child’s custody is taken care of. He mentioned that the school has already provided each student with 14 exercise books and 6 text books. Thereafter, Hilda Mwavishi CCP Academy’s Head Teacher explained to the parents the admission procedures and sighted some benefits of schooling at CCP Academy. These benefits include; deliberate teaching of God’s Word,(Spiritual Formation), trained professional teachers, good academic performance, a child friendly environment, a daily balanced diet, access to other programs such as mentoring, Rites Of Passage Experiences (ROPEs) and CCP’s Good News Clubs(GNCs). She also gave information concerning school transport, uniform, academic trips, parent meetings, circumstances under which a child can be expelled from school and the school rules and regulations. Later, facilitated by Betty Opati CCP’s Sponsorship Coordinator the parents selected two class representatives. The two are Caroline Kaisha the parent of Keith Kaisha (a community child) and Christopher Inganga the parent of Job Makonjio (a CCP sponsored child). The two will represent this class in CCP’s Parents- Board link meetings and also communicate to the school any issues of concerns raised by the parents. At the end, Saidi Chesoli CCP’s Social Worker thanked the parents for attending the meeting then a parent led in the closing prayer.
