Youth Ministers Training
Twenty-two CCP staff attended ‘Youth Ministers Training’ held on December 8th, 2017 at CCP’s Community Center, Kawangware. The seminar empowered 22 staff with skills on Biblical Principles for Youth ministry from Ephesians 4:11-13. The training begun with an encouragement word from Pastor Fredrick Mmbwanga from Proverbs 27:17. ‘You need another man to sharpen your understanding’, Pastor Fredrick said. Nahashon Wachira, writer & trainer with KUZA Ministry, Global Youth Ministry & Associate at Ridgeways Baptist Church, Kenya took the staff through the five steps for effective youth ministry. Defining the term ‘Youth Ministry’ that is the why and what should be done, Equip, Evangelize and encourage youths. Others include Teaching & Preaching & Importance of God’s word. In addition, the staff learnt how to get Youth involved in action based evangelism, How to start & run a youth bible study & basic elements among others. Nahashon reminded the staff that God has called people into ministry to be among the lead in different offices. He gave an example of the generation from Hezekiah, Manasseh, Amon and Josiah. Hezekiah had a don’t care attitude after he was added 15 more years while Josiah at eight years old came to restore Jerusalem. Nahashon further explained that the purpose for youth ministry is to always help every believer to be Christ-like. ‘Create a strong foundation that your fourth generation shall be blessed’, Nahashon advised. He called upon the staff to study the word of God, know the meaning before and after to understand it just like the Bereans in Act 17:11. Sermon needs time for preparation’, Nahashon instructed. Kuza Seminar, Nairobi, Kenya developed and ran by Global Youth Ministry & Kubamba Krew. They developed a devotional app named "Kuza” which is a Swahili word that means "to grow." The devotionals are written by East Africans within an East African context. Its goal as a ministry is to equip churches to reach youth for Christ through training pastors in conferences and seminaries.
