CCP Holds Community Youth Outreach Soccer Tournament.
On November 25th, 2017 CCP held a community soccer Tournament at Gatina Primary school grounds sponsored by For the Boys (FTB) organization. FTB is passionate about reaching out to the boy children in the informal settlement s. The goal is to support the boys through mentorship so that they do not run to the streets at the expense of their education. Since the beginning of the year, young CCP Boys had been training at Gatina Primary School grounds and many other team were preparing for this day. There was much determination to beat the mud and the rain until the game happened as scheduled despite the ground being wet after a heavy downpour the night prior. Roggens Nyakundi, a boy’s mentor with CCP shared God’s word from Luke 15: 11 the story of the prodigal son. He encouraged the young people to find their true identity in GOD who loves eternally. Afterwards the national Anthem was sung and the matches started. The team present included; Bridge International Academy, Victoria Sports Academy (VSA), CCP Academy Junior Boys’ Team, Bethany Academy, CCP High School Girls’ team, Winners, Urafiki , and Dagoretti Mixed High school. CCP staff members had the opportunity to walk around among the children and teenagers present and share God’s word as the matches continued. CCP is grateful to FTB for the support given towards this ministry and to the sports outreach programs.
