GNC End Term Event
CCP’s Good News Clubs (GNCs) celebrated the end term at an event themed “God’s Amazing Grace” on Saturday August 5th, 2017 held at Community Center, Kawangware. The event’ objective was to teach the children about God’s grace and help them understand that God’s grace is for everyone. The event attracted 165 children within Kawagware and Ngando communities organized into four GNCs centers namely: Solid Rock, Community Center, Good Hope and Kawangware Day. The four GNCs competed in a dance, memory verses, skits, songs, poems and Bible trivia. Pastor Fredrick Mmbwanga, CCP’s Children and Youth Coordinator appreciated the children for having attended GNC’s every Saturday for the last three months. Peter Njenga, Spiritual Volunteer encouraged the children from Philippians 4:13. “Don’t be afraid to showcase your gifts and talents because it comes from Jesus Christ”, Peter advised. He further enlightened the children that the use of gift and talent is not by own power but by God’s strength. The competition brought together a panel of adjudicators who assessed how the theme of the day was carried in all the pieces presented. The team also took other additional areas ranging from: voice projection & audibility, introduction, stage management, actively participation, creativity, confidence & coordination in presentation, entertainment and overall performance. Solid Rock emerged the winner with 370 points, followed by Kawangware Day with 354 while Good Hope bundled third position with 352 points and lastly Community Center got 202 points. Thereafter, 17 out of 36 children who had given their life to Christ in April and gone through a six weeks Follow-Up classes graduated and were awarded each a certificate. Pastor Fredrick commissioned and prayed for them to go forth and make disciples of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 28:19-20. GNC is a Bible study program for sponsored and non-sponsored children aged between 4-10 years. CCP has four GNCs centers: three in Kawangware while one in Ngando. These children learn the word of God through Bible lessons and participatory activities such as songs and games. The centers meet on Saturday at various centers in Kawangware and Ngando.
