CCP Appreciates Azusa Pacific University (APU) students.
CCP appreciates Leah Freeman, Hannah Fowble, Talar Kabadayah, Toni Caddell, Sarah Bubna and Dr. Sheryn Scott of Azusa Pacific University (APU) for a two weeks Mission with us between July 10th and July 24th. APU has partnered with Chosen Children of Promise (CCP) for the last 8 years and sends a team of psychology students every year. This year, APU team visited nine families in Kawangware and prayed with them and counselled 27 children from CCP Academy and Gatina primary school. They trained children in both CCP Academy and Gatina Primary schools on different topics ranging from drug and substance abuse, negative peer pressure, dealing with difficult situations at home, good study habits, handling exam anxiety and self-identity. The team also trained CCP Staff on Basic counselling skills. Our appreciation also goes to Dr. Chege, Christine Warren and Jack who had a session covering alternative disciplinary measures with CCP Academy teachers.
