CCP Men Graduate from “Man Enough” Program
A team of 14 male staff from Chosen Children of Promise (CCP) graduated on March 2nd, 2017 from the eight weeks training of “Man Enough” program. The event dubbed “Battalion 18” brought together 200 men from Nairobi. The “Man Enough” training facilitated by Transform Nations focuses on raising men in five areas where a man: Takes Initiative, Lives Responsibly, Leads Sacrificially, Loves Faithfully and Leaves Behind a Worthwhile Legacy. In his charge to the Battalion 18 class, Transform Nations Executive Director, Pastor Simon Mbevi implored on the men to take their God given role in the society by being: Men of honor with a character that is heavy as their weight, men of duty that pour out their weight as fathers, husbands, brothers or colleagues; and lastly, men of significance that are a part of transforming the society. “Be a father to your children and other children around you. The glory of masculinity is in fatherhood,” said Pst. Mbevi emphasizing on the best contribution a man can give to the society. Speaking from 1 Kings 2:1-3, he asked the men to “Be Strong, Show Yourself a Man and Follow God.” “Celebrate the men around you as they are a work in progress…they are not perfect but celebrate them,” he said to the family, friends and siblings of the graduating men. Thereafter, the men were commissioned through a declaration creed ending the session with a word of prayer.
