Trusting God in 2017
One person gave his life to Christ during this year’s first evangelistic message on “Trusting God” on January 7th 2017 at Maranatha Faith Assemblies, Kawangware. Pastor William Ong’aro from Githogoro Community Baptist Church preached from the book of Psalms 37:1-7 and encouraged guardians to trust in God who “has good plans to give you a future and hope.” There is need for every person to trust in the Lord because He is everlasting, self-sufficient, without discrimination and faithful. In addition, God protects and directs everyone who trusts in Him. Noting that putting trust in God costs, Pastor Ong’aro challenged the congregation to find joy in the Lord by being obedient to God’s law, and devoting themselves to God. He also inspired them to be contented with what they have and who they are. “Find joy in the Lord and not people or material things,” he stated. Pastor Ong’aro further informed guardians that each one was created with a purpose hence they should not look down upon themselves. “Whatever thing you are good at, thank God and do it with joy as you trust in God,” Pastor Ong’aro stated. On the same day,19 2016 Rites of Passage ExperienceS (ROPES), a program that helps grade eight students transition smoothly from childhood to adulthood, graduated after successfully going through the year-long program.
