2019 ROPEs Graduation
Seven hundred and sixty Rites of Passage Experiences (ROPEs) grandaunts from about 60 institution and churches, among them 30 from CCP attended the eleventh joint ROPEs graduation organized by Tanari Trust on January 4th, 2020 held at All Saints Cathedral Church, Nairobi. This was after successfully going through a one year ROPEs curriculum in 2019. The graduation begun with praise and worship and a welcome note from Timothy Matheka, Executive Office at Tanari Trust. In the meantime, five grandaunt gave some views of their experiences some explained that the most challenging bit of the experience was hiking and fasting during the ROPEs camp. Afterwards, Eng. Mwongera, guest speaker and a former ROPEs parent described ROPEs programs as a transition is like a journey where someone experience a complete new beginning. He further encouraged the teens from Joshua 1:9 explaining them to take courage as their plan A to excel as they transition to high school. Later on, Timothy congratulated all grandaunts for their participation in the life transforming ROPEs program. The Ropers were commissioned to go forth and be the light & salt to make a difference in the world. They recited 1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity". The event climaxed with the issuance of certificates of completion to all the graduates through their institutions/churches. CCP as an organization also received a commendation certificate for due compliance with ROPES program standards. CCP adopted the program for the first time in 2012.
