Sponsorship Christmas Party-Emmanuel; God with us.
On 30th November, 2019, CCP's Sponsorship ministry held a Christmas Party for the sponsored families. The party themed: 'Emmanuel - God with us', which was attended by 209 families, brought to a close the 2019 Sponsorship activities. The event started at 8a.m. with a session of praise and worship that was led by some CCP staff, after which Guest preacher, Pastor Francis Lukale of Maranatha Faith Assemblies shared word on 'Emmanuel' where he reminded everyone of the far God had brought us. He also emphasized on Emmanuel being God with us, God for us and God in us. Performances by the kids then followed in which the children got to show their talents in dance, singing, poem recitation, and acting. They performed the pieces they had practiced during the End term event in October. 2019 ROPEs students also recited the lessons they had learnt through the week as they camped at Mt. Longonot. CCP's Education Coordinator encouraged parents and guardians to sign up their children who will be transitioning to Grade 8. He also emphasized the importance of ROPEs as a good experience to transition from childhood into adulthood. We then celebrated the students for being consistent enough to learn and successfully complete the course. The event also celebrated the just graduated 8th Graders. CCP Academy Class of 2019 managed a Mean Score of 302. This was an improvement from a mean of 242 in the beginning of the year. We also celebrated CCP's top Girl, Veronicah Wanjiru who scored 405 marks. CCP's Director of Finance, Jacqueline Ngige appreciated her and encouraged her to keep up the effort as she proceeds to High school. She also appreciated the teachers for working with the learners to ensure good grades. One of parents, Mama Josephine encouraged the parents to appreciate the trainings and support groups initiated by CCP. She told her story of how she was able to gain knowledge and skills on soap making and how the skills have enabled her to fend for herself and her children. In her speech, she thanked CCP for training her as she is now able to put food on the table for her family and pay her bills. She finished her speech by giving 25 liters of soap to CCP as a way to thank CCP for equipping her with skills to help her fend for her family. CCP's Director of Finance, Jacqueline Ngige, appreciated the parents for making 2019 a successful year and encouraged them to make 2020 a better one. She also encouraged the parents to attend the meetings and trainings faithfully. She also asked them to support the construction project in any way they can; prayer, donations or connecting the organization with people who can help in the construction. She encouraged the parents to even visit the site and see the progress made. She explained that the construction will not only benefit them but also the community around. CCP Board representative, Pastor Francis Kataka appreciated everyone for making the year a success. Echoing words of the day's preacher, he reminded his audience of the importance of God's presence in their lives. Guardians were reminded to ensure their children attend the Good news clubs and youth service and for those whose children were to attend camp the following week to meet the people in charge to receive guidelines. A closing prayer was said and lunch was served thereafter. As we end the year, we are thankful to God for a good year and pray a better on in the coming one.
